The real Sukhoi Su-29 aerobatic special is a mount of the cream of the World's aerobatic pilots. The two-seat version is an ideal prototype for a model flying the 3D disciplines. The model kit is almost ready to fly, being offered with the maximum of parts pre-cut and pre-finished including the near-to-scale surface finish. Assembling the model is therefore an easy, time-saving task. No adhesive tape is needed during the assembly! Power would be best provided by a 50-gram-class AC motor and 3 LiPol accumulators. The fuselage front is already prepared for the installation of the variable-pitch propeller eg. Axi EVP. The fuselage is also ready for attachment of floats. The model is slated for the more experienced pilots. Its pleasant flight characteristics and the very strong and resilient EPP material just ask for the most difficult aerobatic figures to be tested and flown. what you will needThe RC set>
EVP propeller (highest performance)
List of other necessary materials: epoxy glue, medium-thick cyanoacrylate glue (we prefer the Flash brand), connectors to accumulators. List of necessary tools: modelling knife, soldering iron, snipping pliers. Controlling the variable-pitch propeller (EVP) We have tested two methods. The first one is apparently excellent for the very first encounter with this feature, the second one is intended for the experienced pilots and provides for utilising the capabilities of this equipment fully. For the first method, leave all the functions of the model in a standard set-up. Only add the fifth servo for the propeller control. Set the fifth servo control on the transmitter by a separate control element. It could be a toggle switch. The sole condition is that it is easily accessible during the flight. The effect of the propeller blades' pitch must be tested by the "trial and error" method and the purpose of this "tuning" is to achieve the maximum forward as well as backward thrust. Flying is completely normal, only when pilot feels that he/she is going to manage it, the "reverse" is switched on. To recover the model from an unexpected flight attitude another "gear shift" should be executed. Probably the sole but a very important advantage of this control method is that in the neutral (zero) throttle position the motor stops! This is a feature that the overwhelming majority of pilots has very thoroughly remembered. Another solution is to utilise the helicopter collective control programme of the transmitter. It that case the propeller reacts to the throttle control, (it is not needed to reach for another control knob/lever) - but bear in mind that the zero pitch of the propeller corresponds with the centre position of the throttle lever! So if in a crisis situation a usual reaction takes place, then, instead of pulling the throttle back just to reduce the thrust the full "reverse" thrust is applied... And just one minor note: The efficiency of the EVP propeller is much less than that of the classic propeller. Therefore, if you choose to use that type of propeller, ensure that you save as much weight as possible and use the most powerful motor available. List of parts in the kit:
